Our first Direct Trade coffee with Long Miles Coffee Project (LMCP) based in Burundi, this coffee was harvested in the spring of 2016 on Gitwe Hill at their Heza Washing Station. Ben and Kristy Carlson of LMCP have been partnering with Burundian coffee farmers since 2011, working to produce amazing coffees and care for the well-being of the farmers who grow it. Burundi coffee is the Cinderella of the coffee world: hidden, misunderstood, and neglected. But now, grown and crafted with care, Burundi coffee is finding its way into the specialty coffee limelight. Balzac’s is proud to partner with LMCP for our seasonally sourced coffee this spring.
